Dr. John Chae received his doctorate in dental surgery from Loma Linda University where he graduated with honors and received numerous accolades, including the Academic Excellence Gold Award, the California Dental Association Scholarship and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Scholarship. He was also inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society.
Dr. Chae completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at John H. Stroger Hospital of Cook County in Chicago. He has extensive experience in the management of facial trauma, odontogenic infections and oral pathology. He has treated many patients in the clinical setting for dentoalveolar conditions and complex extractions/impactions, as well as dental implants and reconstructive procedures.
He’s experienced in outpatient anesthesia and orthognathic surgery. Dr. Chae is well published and has presented research in both dental and oral and maxillofacial surgery literature. He is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the American Dental Association, the Illinois Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Chicago Dental Society and the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Chae is accredited by the American Heart Association in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support and is also a certified Basic Life Support instructor for healthcare providers. He is on staff at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital and is an adjunct faculty member at Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine.
