Clear Choice Review – so far so good

By Blog

I saw your web page to submit reviews so I just wanted to let you know that my experience at Clear Choice so far is good, but it was just a consultation. The staff was respectful and treated me well. I still haven’t decided yet on a provider for my lower arch. My mom had the same thing done, but she is 17 years older than me and has 4 mini implants. They are offering me all on 4 at Clear Choice. The one thing I like about it is how fast it is done. I am still on the fence, though and a little nervous. Just wanted to say so far so good. Janis

Janis – Thank you for submitting your Clear Choice review.

If you are still undecided, we recommend that you seek a second opinion from a skilled implant dentist who offers All-On-4 as well as other dental implant treatments.

The second opinion will inform you about your options, as well as the pros and cons of each. All-On-4 might be right for you, but you may receive better results with bone grafting.

Find a board-certified prosthodontist for your second opinion. He or she has extensive training and experience in implant dentistry, and proven skill in it. Be prepared to ask questions about your options. Seeing an additional expert in implant dentistry will help you make a decision about your treatment and which provider you want to complete the procedure. We will be interested in receiving an update from you.

Do I need a second opinion after Clear Choice?

By Blog

I have an appointment next Wednesday with Clear Choice. I need implants for my dentures. I was at lunch at friends talking about my appointment and two of them almost simultaneously told me to get a second opinion. Clear Choice has an excellent reputation, and I was referred to them by 2 different people. Is a second opinion really needed? Thanks, Jan

Jan – Whenever dental implants are needed, a second opinion is advisable. Depending on the complexity of a patient’s case, sometimes a third opinion is desirable.

Clear Choice promotes All-On-4 dental implants for many of their patients, but it is likely that you have other options that Clear Choice doesn’t present to you.

A skilled implant dentist who offers All-On-4 dental implants, as well as standard implants to secure dentures will give you a clearer view of whether or not All-On-4 or some other procedure will work best for your case.

A second opinion will also give you a comparison of what to expect from another provider for before and after surgery care, and the cost of the dental implants.

Your investment in your smile is worth knowing your options and being sure that you have made the right decision.

Just read a nightmare Clear Choice review online!

By Blog

Clear Choice is my second opinion and I have an appointment next week. I am going because my co-worker recommended them to me. Her brother-in-law got good results at Clear Choice. I just read a nightmare review about a Clear Choice recommendation for dental implants that went bad. The patient was all set for implant surgery, but the surgeon came in and told the patient not to go through with it. This is scary and it shakes my confidence a little. What can I do if Clear Choice makes a different recommendation from the first dentist that I met with? Thanks. T. Yarborough

Dear T. Yarborough – We understand your concern. It is possible that you will receive a different treatment recommendation from Clear Choice. Clear Choice has implant procedures that it does more frequently than others, and that it recommends more frequently than others.

Remember that just because a recommendation is made, it doesn’t mean that you have to accept it. You are free to, and we suggest it, get a third opinion. Find an independent prosthodontist who is neither affiliated with the first dentist with whom you met, nor with Clear Choice.

An experienced prosthodontist will let you know your treatment options and the results you can expect from each of them. A third opinion will help you make a decision with more confidence.

Should I get a third opinion after seeing my own dentist and Clear Choice?

By Blog

My teeth are in bad shape. I have lost many of them to periodontal disease. I am being treated for the disease now, but in the next year or two, I am going to need dentures. According to my dentist, my options are complete removable dentures, implant dentures, or implants for each of my teeth, which is out of the question for me because of the cost. For a second opinion I went to Clear Choice and they recommended All-On-4 implants for my upper and lower teeth. The cost was only a few thousand dollars more than what my dentist quoted me. My dentist does not like All-On-4 for my case, but Clear Choice told me that it can be done with no problem. Now I am confused about what to do. Should I get a third opinion? Thanks. LaSean

LaSean – If you are confused about which treatment to receive, a third opinion from an experienced prosthodontist will help.

Clear Choice is known for its promotion of All-On-4 dental implants. An independent opinion will give you more insight on your treatment options and which are best for your case.

A prosthodontist has expertise in dental aesthetics and full-mouth reconstruction, which includes the placement of dental implants. A prosthodontist knows every option of tooth replacement available, and will work closely with a periodontist to ensure that your implants are successful.

An additional opinion from a prosthodontist will give you clarity to make an informed decision about your options.

Prosthodontist recommends bone grafting but Clear Choice doesn’t. Why?

By Blog, All-on-4 Dental Implants

I always get a second opinion whenever I am having any major medical or dental work done. So when I decided to get implants I saw a prosthodontist and Clear Choice. The prosthodontist was recommended by my dentist and Clear Choice was recommended by a co-worker. The prosthodontist recommended 6 implants and bone grafting for some bone loss that started about 4 yrs ago. Clear Choice says no bone grafting at all is needed, just All-on-4 implants. Is bone grafting really needed or not? Who do I trust? Cleo

Cleo – You received different recommendations regarding bone grafting because two different procedures were recommended.

When you receive standard dental implants and have bone loss, your jawbone needs to be built up to support the implants. Based on that treatment, the prosthodontist appropriately recommended bone grafting. In this case, without bone grafting, the implants can loosen or fail.

The All-on-4 procedure that Clear Choice recommended for you is designed for patients who have experienced jawbone loss. The angled implants assist the bone in supporting your prosthetic teeth, and eliminate the need for bone grafting. Not everyone is a candidate for All-on-4.

The prosthodontist that you visited is, no doubt, familiar with the All-on-4 procedure. You can discuss your concerns with him or her and ask why All-on-4 was not recommended for your case. You can also inquire about the risks for the procedure, as well as the anticipated results for All-On-4 versus standard implants for your case.

Should I get a second opinion after seeing Clear Choice?

By Blog, Second Opinion

I visited Clear Choice last week. I really like the doctor. What is didn’t like is the cost for my 3 implants. The cost is $2500 more than I had planned for my implant budget. They have a good reputation and my friend referred me to them. I am starting to get a little pressure from Clear Choice to schedule an appointment for the implants. I usually get a second opinion for any kind of surgery. Should I get a second opinion or can I trust them? J.

J. – Whenever you are anticipating any type of surgery, including dental implant surgery, it is always good to receive a second opinion. But find an experienced, credentialed implant dentist for your second opinion.

An exam and diagnostic studies are needed to determine whether you are a candidate for implants and which treatment will work best for your case.

A second opinion will give you more confidence that you have made an informed decision about your implants.

Clear Choice costs much higher than other practices

By Blog

I liked everything about Clear Choice except the cost. Although they have an aggressive sales pitch similar to a time share sales pitch, I did like the customer service and the dentist with whom I spoke. When I heard the $22,000 price tag for my dental implants, I decided to see some other implant dentists. It was not surprising to me that the cost was significantly cheaper. I still have to decide who I will let do the work. Denise

Denise – Thank you for your review.

Your review about the Clear Choices sales methods is common. Clear Choice costs are typically significantly higher than other practices. But that is to be expected because they have more personnel and overhead costs than the average practice.

You did well in seeking additional opinions. It is in the best interest of anyone considering dental implants to get two or three opinions before making a final decision.

Should I get a second opinion on Clear Choice implants?

By Blog, Second Opinion

For the past 6 years I have worn a partial denture. It’s uncomfortable, ugly, and I am sick of it. My dentist told me he can get someone to do the implants for me. I also went to Clear Choice to see what they had to say about the implants. They said I have gum disease and they want to pull all of my lower teeth and replace them with implants. I was in shock trying to figure out how we got from two missing teeth to pulling all of the lower ones. With a price tag of $22k it is really outrageous. I am wondering if I have any other options. – Alec

Alec – You are wise to seek another opinion, and if needed, a third opinion, until you are comfortable with your treatment options and the implant surgeon.

You will need verification of the extent of periodontal disease that you may have. If it is progressive, it needs to be treated before you can receive dental implants. Most dentists will make the effort to save your natural teeth. Although dental implants are the most effective treatment for missing teeth, it is preferable to keep your natural teeth.

When you receive a second opinion, you will likely be given multiple options for tooth placement. Be certain to find a skilled implant dentist for your second opinion before you begin treatment.

Mixed feelings about mixed Clear Choice dental implants reviews

By Blog

I am writing with mixed feelings. I need dental implants but I am torn about the provider I will use. I have an associate who got her dental implants from Clear Choice. There are some things that she didn’t like about Clear Choice (she though the sales staff was too aggressive) but overall, she is very pleased with her dental implants. When I can get first-hand experiences on a decision I have to make, I listen. The problem is, my associate is the only person that I know who has been to Clear Choice. So I have started doing some online investigation. I have read tons of reviews and found that, depending on what website you go to, the reviews are mixed. Then I wonder how many of the reviews have been planted by Clear Choice for the positive, or by their competitors for the negative reviews. Your thoughts? Much appreciated.- Dagmar J.

Dagmar –  Conflicting opinions can be confusing. We have received many critical reviews regarding Clear Choice, and we’ve received some positive ones too. But if you’ve read a volume of reviews and are still undecided, another review wouldn’t help.

We suggest that you begin the process of selecting a provider for your dental implants. Review the credentials and experience of providers first. After you narrow your selections to three or four providers, schedule consultations, exams—whatever you need to help you make an informed choice.

Prepare a list of questions about your concerns regarding the procedure, cost, post-treatment, the protocol to ensure your satisfaction—all of your concerns. Ask them of each provider, and take note of the responses. In addition to the implant dentist’s experience and credentials, ensure that you are comfortable with dentist and the care he or she will give you.

After your consultations, you will feel more comfortable making a final decision. If it’s Clear Choice, be sure to let us know about your experience.

Another opinion after seeing two Clear Choice dentists?

By Blog, All-on-4 Dental Implants

Clear Choice has a good reputation among several of my colleagues who have received dental implants. I travel quite a bit, so I went to two different Clear Choice locations just to compare the recommendations. Both doctors recommended All-on-4 implants for me, which I prefer not to receive. In each case, when I expressed my preference, I receive a “how dare you have a different opinion” look from the dentist. I am uncomfortable. I was pleased with the service, but I am uncomfortable with All-on-4. My preference is standard implants with bone grafting. Should I trust their judgment, or seek another opinion, perhaps with a dentist who will consider mine? Thomas S.

Thomas – You are likely a good candidate for All-on-4 dental implants, but if you don’t want them, and you prefer and are a candidate for standard implants, the choice is yours.

Another opinion from an experienced implant dentist outside of Clear Choice will help you make a final decision. As you likely know, the All-on-4 process is used to eliminate the need for bone grafting. But if you prefer bone grafting and want standard implants, your preference should be respected, as long as the treatment you want will meet the needs of your case.

We don’t know where you live or work, but you can schedule a consultation with Dr. LaVacca to discuss your concerns. If you want to proceed, he will perform an exam and the necessary diagnostic studies to determine your options. Dr. LaVacca is a board-certified prosthodontist and national and international lecturer. You can have confidence in his opinion.
